Apex ESG Strategy
The Company has established an ESG strategy, the principles of which are set out below. Benchmarking and achievement of measurable improvement in ESG metrics is carried out on a quarterly basis against ESG KPIs established by the HSS-ESG Committee. ESG KPI performance is an integral part of management’s annual performance compensation. In addition, at the ownership level, Apex participates in comprehensive periodic ESG questionnaire and assessment carried out by a specialized consulting firm that assesses all Bluewater portfolio companies. One key performance metric is measurable and continuous reduction in CO2 emissions. As examples of the Company’s commitment to operating in an environmentally conscious manner and reducing CO2 emission levels, solar panels are employed at multiple locations to provide power to production equipment and reduce or eliminate the need for diesel fuel.

Environment
- Focus on developing shallow oil reserves with little to no associated gas flaring and facilities designed to reduce carbon emissions.
- Use solar energy and any associated gas for power generation, thus reducing diesel consumption, flaring and emissions.
- Use pipelines and eliminate trucking as much as possible.
- Look for opportunities to be a significant domestic gas provider onshore Egypt.
Social
- Encourage employees to be invested in the communities where we live and work on a personal level.
- Sponsor Hands Along the Nile Development Services, Resala Boys Home and Ras al Hekma Hospital to improve quality of life in local communities.
- Hold public consultation events presenting our projects and operations to promote stakeholder engagement.
- Depend on local talents and Bedouins for employment and services.
Governance
- Board of Directors and management provide ethical and responsible leadership.
- Establish and adhere to robust Code of Conduct, Business Principles and other key policies.
- All employees and directors participate in annual compliance training regarding the Code of Conduct, anti-corruption, antitrust, conflicts of interest, protection of data, and more.
